Lawn Mower Troubleshooting

Common Solutions For Getting Your Mower To Start

Anyone who owns a lawn mower and mows their yard on a regular basis knows that any lawn mower goes through a lot of wear and tear while trimming your grass every year. If you are someone who tends to keep an eye on regular maintenance, your lawn mower should last for a decent amount of time without having any sort of trouble whatsoever. However, as is normal with any type of machine, different parts of the mower can start to wear out and eventually quit no matter how well you take care of your equipment. This is where Lawn Mower Troubleshooting comes in to play. There are a number of different issues that can cause a mower to stop running, each with a certain way to be fixed.

One of the most common problems people come across when mowing their yard is actually getting the mower to start. Suppose you go out to the shed to start your mower one day and it ends up not starting or is very hard to start. There are a few things you may want to check before giving up. The first and obvious option is to check the fuel tank just to make sure there is a sufficient amount of fuel for the mower to run. Another solution would be that the fuel in the tank is very old, possibly from last year. If this is the case, drain all of the old fuel from the tank and fill it up with fresh fuel. For mowers that have an obvious throttle, you should check to make sure the throttle is set to start or run.

Another, more difficult component to check is the battery. If you have checked everything prior to this option and all systems are working properly, you can check the battery with a tester to see if it still has power or if it needs to be replaced. If your battery has power, then check all of the cables to make sure they are clean and connected properly.

Although these are just a few options you have when your mower is difficult to start or simply will not start at all, they are some of the more common solutions for Lawn Mower Troubleshooting.
